The second stage in the bottle manufacturing process occurs in a rotary blow molding machine which takes the previously manufactured preform, and heats the body of the preform to 212 degrees F. The heated preform is then placed in a mold where the preform is inflated to take the mold shape using compressed air at 500 psi. The introduction of the air, and the chilled blow molds rapidly cool the bottle at which point the fully formed bottle is removed from the blow molds. WCC sources its blow molding machines from France and Germany, and they range in size from 8 to 34 blow mold stations, and are capable of producing bottles at speeds up to 61,000 bottles per hour. We produce bottles for carbonated soft drinks, water, and tea, and our bottles range from 300ml up to 3000ml in size.
